Hello friends. Have you ever seen the box office hit ‘Troy’? This film is a historic film which features the world’s biggest wars of the late history. When the word Achilles flashes before you, you get connected to Brad Pitt who played the role of Achilles in the famous movie Troy. But what does the term Achilles tendon related to? What is the relation between Achilles and his tendon? Confused? Here is the reason behind. According to Greek mythology fates, the goddess who controlled the destiny of people told Thetis a Greek woman that there baby would die young. Thetis took her child to the river Styx and gave a bath in the magical water to keep him safe from wounds. She held her son by his heel and dipped him in the magical water. The heel became dry and the rest of the body became strong. Achilles was undefeated in battles and wars. He grew up to be the possessor of the adjectives like bravest, handsomest and swiftest. He worked for the army of king Agamemnon. Though he fought in his army he never went in terms with the king. This is how the shortened version of Troy goes on.
